Botanical Name: Matricaria recutita L
Synonyms: Blue Chamomile, Hungarian Chamomile, Sweet False Chamomile, Matricaria chamomilla, Chamomilla recutita
Family: Asteraceae (Compositae)

Common Uses:

German Chamomile essential oil is deeply soothing, making it a great choice for emotional balance, relaxation, and tension relief. Its calming properties help ease frustration, irritability, and mood swings, supporting emotional resilience. It is often used in skincare for sensitive and irritated skin, and to promote the body's natural healing process.

Blends well with:

  • Antispasmodic (nervous system, digestion, menstrual cycle): Clary Sage, Lavender
  • Nervous tension, anxiety, stress: Bergamot, Clary Sage, Frankincense, Geranium, Lavender, Sweet Orange, Patchouli, Sandalwood

Precautions / Contraindications:

  • Non-toxic, non-irritating, and non-sensitizing.
  • Prone to oxidation—avoid old or oxidized oils.
  • Avoid if allergic to Asteraceae plants or Chamomile.
  • No known contraindications, but caution is advised with drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
  • GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe).

As with all essential oils, taking internally, ingesting, or adding to food/beverages is not recommended and can cause harm.

Keep all essential oils out of the reach of children, lids secured airtight, in a cool, dark location.

Aromatic Note: Middle

A rich, sweet, and somewhat herbaceous aroma with a fresh, fruity undertone. The deep, inky blue oil can be quite intense and overpowering in its pure, undiluted state.
